Crafting in Loftia has a sustainable twist that fits its solarpunk world: instead of mining fresh resources, you turn discarded materials into something useful. This guide covers how crafting is framed in Loftia and the ideas behind it. Full recipes, crafting stations, and material details will be added once Early Access begins.
Crafting by Upcycling
Upcycling means taking waste or discarded materials and transforming them into something of greater use or value — without breaking them down first, which is what sets it apart from regular recycling. In Loftia, this is the core of crafting: you repurpose discarded materials into gear and furniture. Confirmed examples include turning an old tire into a flower planter, or reclaimed wood into custom furniture. (The full recipe list and how crafting stations work are TBA until Early Access.)
Renewable-Energy Tools
Your tools in Loftia run on renewable energy generated from the sun, wind, and rain — the same kinds of clean, replenishing sources used in the real world for solar, wind, and hydro power. It’s a small detail that reinforces the game’s sustainability theme: what you build and use is powered by nature rather than depletable fuel. (Exactly how energy is generated and used in-game will be confirmed at Early Access.)
How Crafting Connects Everything
Crafting is the link between Loftia’s other systems. What you farm and gather becomes raw material; what you craft furnishes your floating island and home; and your creations can feed into neighborhood and community projects in the shared world.
What’s Coming at Early Access
We’ll expand this guide at launch with the parts that aren’t public yet: the full crafting recipe database, where to find materials, how crafting stations and upgrades work, and the most useful early recipes. A crafting calculator is on our tools roadmap too — the island planner is the one that’s live today.
