Loftia Early Access: Everything Confirmed

If you’ve been keeping an eye on Loftia, the cozy solarpunk life-sim MMO from Qloud Games, here’s the current state of play in one place. After a closed beta, a Wholesome Direct appearance and a dated showcase slot, the picture for Early Access is finally complete: there is a date, a time and a price.

When is Loftia’s Early Access?

November 3, 2026, at 1pm EST. Qloud Games announced it at the PC Gaming Show: Tokyo Direct on September 20, and the Steam store page and loftia.gg FAQ were both updated the same day, so every first-party source now agrees.

The June 6 Wholesome Direct had narrowed it to a Fall 2026 window alongside a Release Window Gameplay Trailer; November 3 sits inside that, so nothing slipped between the two announcements.

The older “mid-to-late 2026” wording that used to sit on the loftia.gg FAQ is gone; that FAQ was rewritten from scratch the same day. If you want a reminder rather than a diary entry, wishlisting on Steam notifies you the moment it unlocks, and the release tracker has the launch time in every timezone.

Can you pre-register for Loftia?

Qloud Games announced on September 10, 2026 that pre-registration is open — but the page itself still says otherwise. Both of those are first-hand, and they don’t agree, so here they are side by side.

The announcement, from the studio’s own account:

Loftia’s Pre-Registration is now OPEN!! 🥳🎉 You can now set up your account, claim some exclusive rewards, and get ready for your arrival in Loftia City

A follow-up post pointed people at loftia.gg and added that anyone with an existing Loftia account would see their rewards on login.

The page at loftia.gg/register — headed “Pre-register for Loftia”, with a name-and-email form on it — still carried this banner when we checked it on September 16, 2026, the same wording it had on August 27:

Registration of new accounts is currently paused. Email alerts will go out before Early Access releases this Fall.

The site’s homepage button also still points at the mailing-list signup rather than a registration flow. A rollback, a staged rollout and a page that never got switched back all look identical from the outside, so we’re not going to pick one.

What that leaves you with:

• Try it anyway — it costs you one page load, and if registration is live for you, the rewards are real and first-party.
• The pause, when it applies, is specifically on new accounts. An account you already made — through the Kickstarter, the closed beta or an earlier signup — isn’t affected by that wording, and the September 10 post says existing account holders see their rewards on login.
• If the form turns you away, wishlisting on Steam is the working substitute, and it notifies you through a channel Qloud Games doesn’t control.

That uncertainty was settled by the Tokyo Direct announcement, which points straight at pre-registration as the thing to do next. It is not a purchase and not a wishlist — it sets up the account you link in-game at launch.

What platforms will it launch on?

At Early Access, Loftia launches on:

• Steam (PC & Mac), playable in 14 languages, with controller as well as keyboard-and-mouse support
• Steam Deck — officially supported from day one

Coming later, after Early Access:

• Nintendo Switch — confirmed as planned, but without a date. Since Loftia is online-only, Switch play will need a Nintendo Switch Online membership. A Switch 2 version has not been announced.

Announced for launch, but the sources disagree:

• Epic Games Store — Epic was confirmed alongside Steam at Wholesome Direct 2026. On September 20 the two first-party sources split: Qloud Games’ launch press release says Early Access arrives “on November 3 for PC and Mac, on Steam and Epic Games Store”, while the FAQ rewritten the same day names only Steam. The Epic store page is live for wishlisting but still reads “Available 2026”. For a few days we listed Epic as not part of the launch on the FAQ’s wording alone; the press release says otherwise. Steam remains the one store every source agrees on.

Not part of the launch:

• PlayStation 5 and Xbox — never named by the developer, nothing said either way.
• Mobile (iOS / Android) — an earlier version of the FAQ named iOS and Android as a post-launch aim. The rewrite dropped those names for a generic “additional platforms”, so mobile now has no first-party mention anywhere.

How much will it cost? Is it free-to-play?

Not free. Loftia is buy-to-play at $29.99 USD, with a limited-time 17% launch discount bringing it to $24.89. Regional pricing is available. You pay once to access all the gameplay, with microtransactions limited to cosmetics, a cosmetic-only season pass and no pay-to-win — and no plans for paid DLC, since Early Access content updates are free to owners. What did the closed beta show?

Loftia’s first closed beta ran April 22 – May 6, 2026 for Kickstarter backers, Loftia Partners, and giveaway winners. It drew 24,648 players — the game’s highest player count to date — and gave the community its first hands-on look at the Gridfall district.

That beta footage is exactly what you’re seeing in the new gameplay trailer: much of it was filmed during the playtests, including moments captured by the community itself.

A full-circle moment

There’s a nice bit of symmetry here. Loftia first debuted its teaser at Wholesome Direct back in 2023 — the same showcase where it returned in 2026 to lock in its release window. To celebrate the news, the team ran a community event from June 6–13, rallying players to “restore power to the Gridfall” as the trailer racked up likes and comments.
